Eastern Wayne topples South Central, 6-3

Eastern Wayne emerged victorious in four of six singles matches and handed South Central a 6-3 loss on Wednesday afternoon.

Dylan March, Tyler de la Motte, John Davis and Isa Alghorazi each won their matches. Ahnaf Hussain and Alex Thomas lost very close matches.

March and de la Motte as well as Davis and Thomas prevailed in their doubles matches. Mohamed Mohamed and Anthony King lost their match 8-5.

Eastern Wayne is now 2-6 overall and travels to Charles B. Aycock tomorrow.

“This was the best overall team performance of this year. Our players have steadily improve throughout the season and displayed great sportsmanship and character. Despite beating this same team by the same score at their place earlier(6-3), the Warriors nearly posted a 9-0 shutout as the 3 losses were close, competitive matches,” Eastern Wayne head coach Josh Dixon said. “Thanks to Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Cunningham for being in attendance Wednesday, and showing their support as well other staff members throughout the season!”
