Goldsboro roars into state playoffs

Goldsboro won the East Central 2-A Conference tournament with a 78-72 victory over Spring Creek, The Cougars were led by Isaiah Wilder with 23 points, while Xavion Atkinson finished the game with 15 points. The win gives Goldsboro the ECC regular season and tournament championship. The third-seeded Cougars will play at home on Tuesday against Bartlett Yancy in the first round of the state playoffs.

Rosewood 64, North Duplin 49 (1-A semifinals)

Michael Reid finished with 23 points, Roderick Benjamin added 15 points, while Wyatt Searles added 13 points as Rosewood toppled North Duplin.

Princeton 61, Rosewood 45 (1-A finals)

Roderick Benjamin scored 17, Tanner Capps scored 10 points and Michael Reid added nine points, but Rosewod lost to Princeton in the Carolina 1-A Conference tournament finals.
