Wayne Christian dominates Wilson Prep

Thanks a to 10-run fifth inning, Wayne Christian soared over Wilson Prep in five innings on Monday evening. Will White lead the Eagles with a dominant game. White was a perfect 4-4 from the plate with a triple, a home run, and five RBIs. Jaxson Bauer got the win on the mound with a one-hit, six strikeout performance. Baur also had two RBIs. Addison Johnson got the save. He pitched one inning and tossed three strikeouts. Johnson went 3-4 from the plate an RBI and three doubles. Dawton King went 1-3 from the plate with a double and three RBIs. Zach Brenner had two RBIs and Tyler Kornegay had one RBI. Corbett Schaefer was 1-3 with a double and one RBI. Wayne Christian is now 3-1 overall and travels to Wayne Country Day on Friday.

The Chargers toppled Harrells on the road. Ashton Gupton scored one goal, while Macy Floyd scored one goal and dished out one assist. Hayden Nielsen scored one goal, and Lexi Jeffreys and Katie Strickland each had one assist.

Prep boys’ tennis

Dylan March continued his dominant play in singles with 6-1, 6-0 win against D.H. Conley’s Sean Jung, March is now 5-0 in singles matches and 4-1 in doubles matches. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost their other singles matches. Tyler de la Motte lost 6-0, 6-0, while Ahnaf Hussain was defeated 6-2, 6-0, D.H. Conley’s Will Vodicka toppled John Davis 6-2, 6-1. Alex Thomas was defeated by Alex Pittman 6-1, 6-2, and in the final singles match Blair Bice(DHC) defeated Isa Alghorazi 6-0, 6-1. In doubles play, March and de la Motte beat Jung and Varnell 8-3. Sherrill and Vodicka beat Davis and Thomas 8-0.

In the final doubles match, Hussain and Anthony King lost to Stancil and Jones 8-0. Eastern Wayne is now 1-4 overall and travels to New Bern on Thursday.
