The Rosewood High School’s boys’ varsity golf team participated in the Eastern North Carolina 1-A Regionals on Tuesday. The team came up a few strokes short in qualifying for the state tournament, but the Eagles had two players qualify as individuals.
Wyatt Searles and Tyson Bedford both advanced and will play at Pinehurst No. 6 for the individual state championship. Wyatt Searles was the Eastern Regional Medalist with a score of 78.
“This is the second consecutive year that a Rosewood golfer has been the Medalist at the Regionals,” Rosewood head coach Rick Smith said. “Both golfers have been solid throughout the season, and I think these boys will represent Rosewood High School and Wayne County well.”
