RALEIGH — Thanks to Luca Tresh’s three-run homer in the seventh inning along with insurance runs from Jonny Butler’s two-RBI double in the eighth, the No. 13 NC State baseball team overcame a late two-run deficit to defeat Tennessee Tech, 10-6, on Tuesday evening at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack improves to 32-10 on the year while the Golden Eagles, a team that was one win away from reaching the College World Series in 2018, move to 17-21 on the year. Tuesday’s victory marked the 16th time this season that the Pack has fought back from a deficit at some point to win a game.

ECU

GREENVILLE — Bryant Packard laced three doubles and scored three times, while Seth Caddell tallied a pair of hits which included a two-RBI triple as No. 11 ECU completed the season sweep of instate foe UNCW, 8-5, Tuesday night at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium.

With the win the Pirates improve to 30-10 and the Seahawks drop to 20-22. Trailing 5-4 going to the bottom half of the eighth inning, ECU scored four runs taking an 8-5 lead and held on for its 12th-straight win at home.

Duke

DURHAM — A solid start from junior Adam Laskey paired with home runs from graduate student Kyle Gallagher, freshman Ethan Murray and sophomore Michael Rothenberg carried the Duke baseball team past N.C. Central 6-2 on Tuesday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Blue Devils have now won 11 of their last 12 games and improve to 25-16 overall this season.

UNC

CHAPEL HILL — Andrew Grogan’s 7.2 innings of one-run baseball helped lead No. 15 North Carolina to a 6-1 win over Coastal Carolina at Boshamer Stadium on Tuesday night. Grogan worked a nearly flawless game into the eighth inning, surrendering his only run in that frame, a solo shot.

He allowed just five hits, walked none and struck out five en route to his third win of the season. Ashton McGee drove in a pair of runs, while Ike Freeman scored twice.
